Rock Engineering - A Challange
The fascinating - and at times frustrating - fact that we can never fully know the characteristics of the rock in advance when starting out on a new, and therefore unique, project, makes great demands on those whose role it is to plan, mine, support and seal, and - not least - to exercise the responsibility for rational maintenance during the installation's working life.
This means there is a need for theoretical expertise and understanding of the particular characteristics of the rock, coupled with experience of practical work in the field. Read more...
